I am sharing my sewing, living experiences in the UpState of SC, UpState sightseeing, and travels with friends and acquaintances.
I began sewing in 2017, and the first project was a cotton sofa pillow cover sewn by hand with a backstitch. The skills were acquired via YouTube. This project lead to buying a sewing machine and learning how to piece and quilt. Learning to machine sew lead to buying and restoring vintage sewing machines, with my oldest machine from 1938.
Many, many moons ago, SC became prominent in my life for a few months as I trained at Marine Recruit Depot, Parris Island. Around 2017-ish as I read Ecclesiastes 3, I read, “There is a time to sow, a time to reap, and a time to depart Ohio.” In Nov 2019, after 22 years in Ohio, I departed for the UpState vowing never to return to the Buckeye State.
