- Sew with new needles and needles having low hours of usage
- Match needle size to thread
- Match needle type to fabric
- Back stitch, 3-4 stitches, at beginning and end of seam
- Cotton fabric: serge non-selvage edges, then wash cold, no bleach, dry medium. to high, iron/press as needed before folding
- Cotton fabric: 5/8″ seam allowances for garments
- Cotton fabric: serge or zig zag seam allowances
- Knit and jersey fabics: 3/8″ seam allowances for garments
- Sew a seam, iron/press a seam
